What to do? Golf, Thoughts
|
I went out to play a round of golf this morning, after hitting about 30 balls at the range this morning.
I did this, only because I was hitting the ball pretty good at the range. My tempo was good, and I was hitting the ball pretty much where I was aiming.
But once I got on the course, all that changed. Not only were my tempo and rhythm way off, but half the time I couldn’t even make good contact on the ball, and when I did, it sure didn’t go where I planned.
I just don’t know anymore. I used to like to play golf. Last year I was playing 2 or 3 times a week. Now, I’ve only played about 4 times this year, and I really have no more desire to play.
Plus it was freakin’ hot, so I quit after 9 holes.
I can’t even imagine how anyone can play golf in Florida, or anywhere else in the East or Midwest. As a matter of fact, I can’t even imagine how people can live in those areas.
They must all be daffy!

Can anything top this years US Open Golf
|
In almost unbelievable (were it anyone else besides Tiger Woods) fashion, Tiger Woods pulls off one of the greatest victories in golf history.
In what had to be one of the most exciting golfing events of all time, Tiger Woods squeaked out a 91 hole victory over Rocco Mediate, by paring the 1st hole of sudden death play off, after both players completed the 18 hole play off at even par.
I just can’t even imagine the pressure both these golfers were under, to be able to play as well as they did.
Congratulations are deserved by both.
It was just a shame someone had to lose.

Off to the gym, golfing and….. Cycling, Golf, Thoughts
|
Well this morning, I’m off to the gym for a short treadmill and weight workout, instead of my normal bike ride.
I’m playing in a golf tournament today, and I have a 10:30 AM tee time, which doesn’t provide enough time to ride, shower and then get to the tournament without being totally rushed.
Besides I went for a hard ride to Turnbull Canyon yesterday in anticipation of this. I also plan on doing a hard ride tomorrow, so I can afford to skip a day, plus a short run and weight workout is a good change of pace.
As a final note, I don’t expect to be continuing this blog, after this post. It has become too difficult trying figure out which posts are more appropriate for this blog or for my Living wiht MCL blog, so I don’t see the point of this blog anymore.
When I have something to say or report, I will simply do it on my Living wiht MCL blog.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood Cycling, Golf, Whatever

Spring is definitely in the air.
Got up, it was 58oF, and slightly overcast. It was a perfect day to take Edie’s car to be repaired, at Earl Schieb’s in Bellflower, and then go for a bike ride afterwards.
Then around noon, the sun came out, and the temperature soared to around 75oF. I went and hit some golf balls, then had a lesson, which assured me I am doing everything right, I just have to work on tempo and timing.
Once I get that under control, I’ll be ready to defend my title as the Long Beach Mens Senior Open Champion in May.
And finally the article I was interviewed for a month ago, was published today. You can read it here, in the Lifestyles section of ASAP, the AP’s new multimedia service.
I finally got My 15 minutes of fame!
